Sunshine Bears Childminding

April 2023

Last month we had a lot of fun finding out about the different people who help us in our communities and dinosaurs! The activity where the children got to smash dinosaur pooh and find different items inside was a huge hit!
We are continuously looking for ways in which we can enhance our setting and our skills.

Congratulations Chloe for passing a ‘Challenging Behaviour’ course, Revisiting and taking ‘Level 2 safeguarding children’ and ‘Level 2 Food hygiene’.

I have just completed a ‘Speech, Language and communication’ course and now have a much better understanding on how to support the children in our setting. There are many great ideas on how we can all support the children with their Speech, language and communication so thought it might be useful if I pulled together a leaflet with some ideas on what you can do at home and also to give you a better understanding of what we will be doing in the setting to support it. I plan to get this out to everyone within the next couple of weeks.

We hope you all have a lovely Easter.

Upcoming Themes

  • W/C 17th April ‘Bugs and Insects’
  • W/C 24th April ‘Spring season and Gardening’
  • If your child would like to bring in any toys or books relating to the above themes to share with us we would love to see them. It all helps to bring the theme to life for your children.

Please can we ask…

  • Can all babies/toddlers in nappies have their nappies/wipes/nappy sacks in a clear small bag with their names on it
  • Thank you to all of you who have completed our questionnaire. Can I ask that all questionnaires are handed back in by Monday 17th April. Thank you x

Coming soon…

We’re in the process of implementing some changes to our morning drop offs. The aim is to help the children become independent. Once everything is in place we will update you all individually.

March 2023

Welcome to our setting newsletter! Chloe and I have lots of updates on things we have been implementing to enhance the setting. Our website sunshinebearschildminding.com has been updated to become a useful tool for the families in our setting. You will now be able to find all of our policies on the website to read and refer to. If you would still prefer to borrow the file containing the hard copies please ask. Our Instagram account is now linked to the website so any pictures posted giving a taste of our adventures can now be found on our website as well. You can sign up for an alert when the pictures are updated. If you’re not following us please do, also I know that there are some extended family members following us so that they can also see what we get up to so feel free to spread the word!
